Professor Felicity Gavins is the Director of the Centre for Inflammation Research & Translational Medicine (CIRTM) at Brunel University of London.

​

 

Established in 2019, CIRTM is an internationally recognised centre of excellence, uniting a critical mass of outstanding scientists to tackle some of the world’s most pressing health challenges. Our mission is to drive scientific innovation that heals and to deliver real-world impact through translational research.

CIRTM's research spans four core areas:

With an emphasis on collaborative, cross-disciplinary approaches, CIRTM fast-tracks laboratory discoveries into diagnostics and therapies that transform the lives of patients affected by cardiovascular diseases, chronic inflammation, infection, microbial resistance, and cancer. We bring together science, engineering, and medicine to confront acute and chronic global health threats.
